Conference Details
Join regulators and industry professionals October 4 – October 7 for ICAE’s 2009 Fall Exchange. Highlights include:
- Director John Huff of the Missouri Insurance Department will welcome ICAE to the “show-me” state. John will also moderate the opening panel consisting of representatives from the national trades on the topic of federal regulation and its impact on insurers, regulators, and consumers.
- Brenda Cude, Professor, Housing and Consumer Economics, University of Georgia. Dr. Cude, who serves on the NAIC Consumer Participation Program Board of Trustees, will discuss ”Meeting Consumer Needs During Tough Economic Times”.
- An interactive listening workshop presented by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). Learn how to improve your listening skills and identify blockers to the key skill of concentration.
- ”AARP & The 50+ Insurance Consumer” will be the subject of our Monday afternoon panel, which includes representatives from AARP and The Hartford.
- Member organization, MetLife, will bring us information on how their organization identifies and deals with issues involving “Current Consumer Marketing Concerns”.
- The Colorado Insurance Department will showcase their reconciliation process.
- ”Thinking Outside the Black Box” is the title of Glen Daraskevich’s (Karen Clark & Company) presentation on catastrophe modeling techniques.
- NAIC Uniformity Update.
- Tuesday evening dinner and networking event in St. Louis.

Remember rooms at conference rates are limited. Rates are $159 per night for organization attendees under the “ICAE Organization Block” and government rates of $111 per night for our regulator attendees under the “ICAE Government Block”. Be sure to use the appropriate “ICAE” room block when making your reservation on-line or by phone.Be sure to mention ICAE Organization Block or ICAE Government Block based on your registration type.
Note: There is a cancellation penalty equal to one-night room plus tax if reservations are not cancelled by 4:00 p.m. the day prior to your scheduled arrival.

A taxi runs $30-$40 depending on traffic. St. Louis is also serviced by the Metro, a light rail system. From the airport a Metro ticket is $3.00 and the “Stadium” stop is literally located on The St. Louis Westin property. The ride is about 30 minutes.
Valet parking is available for $24 per day.
ATTIRE: Business Casual is appropriate for the entire event.
